Canon Rebel XT 350D in Hardy

Question: Is there a way to save pictures directly to my hard drive (bypassing the memory card) with a Canon Rebel XT?

Install gphotofs (G Photo File System), in Hardy using Synaptic.
Mount the camera DMCI memory to an empty location: !> gphotofs ~/Photos/2008-11-01/

And there you go ! Get your pictures to your hard drive.
